Sometimes the strangest things keep me up at night… Why do people still use Fax Machines? Is there something better then paper business cards in this day of smart phones? Well with Cardcloud.com their is!
Imagine being able to “beam” your business card to someone else with your phone. No more fumbling for your card case or your wallet and pulling out a business card that you had printed, shipped and paid for. With Cardcloud all you have to do is sign-up, design your card and share it with whom you please. It really is that easy and I think it should be the future of business cards.
Cardcloud has apps for iPhone and Android. With either app you can create a card and share it with others. You can have more then one card too, which comes in handy for those of you with more then one rod in the fire. Sharing the card is easy because your customer does not need the app to see the card. You can email them your card or they can follow a link much like this one:
If they don’t have the app, they can download a vCard file which works with just about any mail client. I tested it with an Android phone and had no issues downloading the vcard and adding my contact information to the phone. Even better, since the phone is connected with Google, if the client ever changes phones, they won’t loose your contact information because it is saved “in the cloud”. This service works so well and on top of all that, it’s free. If it all sounds to good to be true, read their FAQ here. If you are interested, head over to www.cardcloud.com to learn more. You can also get the app by searching for it on your device’s application market.
